Why there's no single schedule
Lawn and landscape watering in Southwest Florida is limited to certain days and times, and those limits can tighten during drought. The days that apply to you can depend on your address, whether you're in the City of Naples or unincorporated Collier County, and whether you use potable, well or reclaimed water. HOAs may add their own rules.
How to check yours
Confirm your jurisdiction
City of Naples, Marco Island, unincorporated Collier County or Lee County.
Confirm your water source
Potable (city or county), private well or reclaimed water.
Look up the current phase and schedule
See Collier County water restrictions or your city's utility for current days and hours.
Check your HOA
Some communities control irrigation centrally or add rules.
Set the controller and rain sensor
Program the allowed days and times, and make sure the rain sensor works.
New sod and plants
New landscaping may need establishment watering. Rules for that vary, so confirm what's allowed before setting a heavier schedule. See sod aftercare.
